Brown’s | Avenue Hotel, Lisbon

There are trips that fill your camera roll

and then there are trips that fill your soul.

Earlier this April I travelled to Lisbon with one of my friends for a spontaneous girls’ escape,

and we stayed at Brown’s Avenue Hotel.

The weather hovered around 19 °C.

Sunny, bright, but still a little too cool for a full rooftop pool plunge, but perfect for long city strolls, pastel de natas on terraces and discovering Lisbon’s beautiful layers.

From the moment we stepped into Brown’s Avenue Hotel, perched just off the elegant Avenida da Liberdade, the tone was set: stylish, playful and fully in the vibe of Lisbon’s chic-meets-laid-back rhythm.

Our rooms greeted us with pale wood panels, a retro‐style SMEG minibar, Marshall speaker and a Nespresso machine.

Little design touches that felt effortlessly cool.

We unpacked, slipped into comfy shoes and set off to explore the tree-lined boulevard, the designer stores and the warm light of the city at golden hour.

We wandered through Lisbon’s hills, discovered hidden viewpoints bathed in soft afternoon light, and paused for café breaks where the café chairs faced the world just slow enough to feel like an escape.

Back at the hotel we found ourselves drawn to the cosy library with its “honesty bar”.

A perfect place for conversation, cocktails and that delicious, easy-going holiday feeling.

The rooftop pool was one of the hotel’s most stylish features.

Vintage-striped loungers, cactus accents and sweeping views across the Lisbon rooftops.

Since it was still a bit too crisp for a full swim, we wrapped ourselves in towels, sipped drinks and watched the city spin below in golden light.

Just the kind of moment you want when you’ve traveled with your friend… quiet, joyful, shared.

The next morning, we lingered over breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant and bar space.

A colourful buffet of fresh pineapple, papaya, and berries,
smoothies full of sunshine,
and flaky local pastries still warm from the oven.

Strong coffee, slow conversation, and Lisbon waking up just outside our window.

The ceiling stretched high, plants added lushness, and the mood felt elevated without ever being stiff.

We toasted to friendship, to travel, and to being somewhere beautifully new.
