Sunshine in January.

Right after New Year’s, when Switzerland and Germany were still wrapped in snow,
we traded grey skies for 20 degrees and sunshine.

And where did we end up?

At Castillo Hotel Son Vida, located high above Palma.

A castle turned luxury hotel in Mallorca, surrounded by palm trees and soft golden light.
The kind of place that makes you exhale the moment you arrive.

We checked in on a quiet afternoon.

Warm air. Blue skies.

And that view….!!

The entire Bay of Palma, with the Cathedral of Palma glowing in the distance.

Our room opened up to a private balcony overlooking the city.

Later, we wandered through the historic hallways,

past murals and chandeliers that whispered stories of another era.

The hotel carries this quiet kind of grandeur, old-world charm meets relaxed Mediterranean ease.

In the morning, we had breakfast with a view 😍

Fresh fruit, warm croissants, and orange juice that tasted like sunshine.

We spent the afternoon on the terrace,

watching the sun dip behind the hills.

Too cool for a swim, yes,

but perfect for just sitting there, feeling that gentle Mallorca winter warmth on our skin.

And when the evening came,

we had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant.

Candlelight, soft music, and flavours that felt both comforting and refined.

The kind of meal that makes you slow down between bites.

The next day, we enjoyed afternoon tea in the lounge.

Warm scones, tiny sandwiches, and that golden light filling the room.

It felt calm. Elegant. Relaxed.

This Castillo Hotel Son Vida review isn’t about summer holidays or beach days.

It’s about a different kind of luxury….

the quiet one that lives in sunshine during winter,

in peaceful mornings, and in views that make you dream.

Because sometimes, the best way to start the year
isn’t with resolutions…

but with warmth. 🌅
